Coolant light on Check panel on

Hi, the coolant light on my check panel won't go off. It's on from cold and has only done it this afternoon since I washed the car. I did disrupt the expansion tank a bit when cleaning around under the bonnet a bit. All connections seem fine and there is coolant in it!

Suggestions????

Is it likely to just be a faulty sender unit in the expansion tank? Bloody well hope so!!

Yep!

Try sticking a bit of wire between the 2 terminals & see if that "fixes" it. If it does, & there's definately enough coolant in it, then it's the level sensor...

Mine done it a few weeks ago only way to clear those lights seems to be to disconnect and reconnect the battery

But I'm sure some bright spark on here will put me right

should reset when you turn off ignition
