I recently purchaces a Sony CDXGT710 head unit from New Image Car HiFi (via Amazon), however, within a couple of weeks it packed up. Ive had to send it back to them at my own cost over a week ago, and today I have been told 'it should be on the test bench today' and suggested that it would be repaired and sent back to me.
As there is no way that im putting up wit a repaired unit and I am not happy to have to wait any longer for the unit to be sent back to me, I have contacted Amazon to resolve this and they say they are getting me a redund.

Anyway, enough of that and back to the title.
Can anyone recommend a decent head unit?

I dont really want to go over £200 (would have to be something special for me to do that) and it has to be reliable and look decent.
Other than that, it just has to be CD and radio (MP3 playback would be nice but not important).

Any suggestions?

I sent it back to them within a month, but it only took 2 weeks to start playing up.

ive got a pioneer DEX-P99R,and all i can say is that its the BEST uint ever, for sound quality there is no better, bearing in mind that the unit is about 4-6 years old but well worth every penny i paid, over here they fetch about £200-£400,i bought mine from german ebay and paid 180 Euros.

do a search on it.

:offtopic:
Any electrical eqpt which develops a fault within 6 months of purchase is deemed to have had the said fault when it was purchased and you ARE entitled to a full refund.
I'd try and get the return postage costs from them as well.

Back on topic

As JBH says
Can't go wrong with Alpine(my major components are all Alpine)
After that I'd prob go for Kenwood or Pioneer

Panasonic units have been excellent for me in the past and have amber illumination to match the classice bme dash lighting.
