The only thing that would make me look at an E36 over an E30 is that aircon is a lot easier to get hold of. Everytime I buy another car I swear that this time it's going to have aircon, and every time I end up buying another eighties motor with a sunroof. Last time it was a VW Scirocco 1800, and I don't even like sunroofs. Anyway, what I'm thinking is once I've got my E30, either a Sport or an M3, what sort of a job is it to retrofit aircon if it's not been done already?
Are the parts easy to find or is it a scrapyard job?
How much would the parts cost?
How tricky is it to fit and are there any specialists who do it?
Cheers!

I think the hardest part is getting hold of the Freon

This was discussed recently.

Don't worry too much about Freon (r12). You can easily convert to r134a which is easily available.
Cheers,
Ian.

Many thanks. Well looking at that picture of the dash out, maybe I'll try a bit harder to find one with aircon already fitted!
