Auto's rule

I've always been a manual kind of guy, but i tried one and liked it. Then I started using the gears manually and realised its way better than manual (no clutch).

Just make sure its a 325i.

Autos good for traffic, eating and and messing about while driving, although i don't condone any of these activites, just easier but lack the involvement.

Love my 325i auto touring. It just pulls and pulls, especially in sports mode. Have had a 325i manual, and much prefer the auto.

I would bypass the 320i auto, had one for a few years. They're lovely to drive, but really heavy on fuel

Cheers

My dads last sport 325i Auto with the sports box was great fun, I never got to drive it as I was only a nipper but pulled hard, great noise and was alot of fun using it in the manual mode as well....

Love 'em. Hardly ever use 'Drive' mode these days tho. If you really learn how to use the box, especially the switchable one, I'd say for most everyday uses they are better than manuals. Non-everyday uses = drifting!

Yeah gotta agree both my 320 and 325 are autos 325 is fun and fast, 320 is sluggish, avoid and auto 320 my advice, and make sure you go for the switchable box, just got a donor car and will be changing the 320 to a manual and doing the throttle body thing.

i've had a couple of 325s with e/h auto 'boxes now and they're great - just make sure you use the switchable box properly when drifting as monsport said, don't make the mistake of leaving it in drive with S as opposed to 3-2-1 or it might drop it into first with disasterous consequences! (as i found out)
