Stock or modified...vaguely stupid, yet desirable cars none the less.

I start with 2 simple ones:

Batmobile: I mean, WTF?

And the first M Coupe
It's a Z3.

Touring.

I think these are two of my faves. Would have to change the front of the z3m - it looks awful.

The new 6 series looks like a z3 on acid and comes with a free set of golf clubs

I like the batmobile, its crazy, kinda like the lambo countach (spelt wrong i know) of bmw's. I talked my mate out of buying a z3 and bought a heavily modified e30 instead. Best decision he's ever made me thinx.

1990 320i with 3.5litre alloy rover v8 + rover tranny. Not jaw dropping but pretty bloody cool, and I bet it goes.

Ah, the nostalgia! :) I remember when the Batmobile first hit the tracks. It was just so different. It just happened to coincide with the beginning of my lust for the BMW's of the era (E3 and E9).

I thought the 2002 Touring was pretty cool too.....

IIRC, the first time BMW had used the "Touring" name.
It's never occurred to me before, but the Z3 Coupe would be a far more logical candidate for the continuation of the Touring name-line than for it to have been the E30 sports-estate (and all subsequent models of 3- and 5-series with that body-shape). Just goes to prove that in some senses BMW did lose the plot with E30, just as they have more recently.
Sorry, I'm rambling.
I'll get my coat............
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

I take it you mean as in a 3 dr estate? Thats the reason e30 tourings exist- the boys doing pre facelift conversions on 2 dr shells with mk1 golf hatches.

IMO- BMW GOT THE PLOT by making it 5 door instead of 3door

:thumb: I know that Neil! :D

What I was getting at is IMO, BMW should have stuck to the theme they created with the '02 Touring (ie the hatchback type), and call the sports-estate something else.
I'm imagining an E30 hatch, along the same lines as the '02 Touring (but not as gash as the E36/E46 Compacts - now they really are plot-loss victims).

Oh! ....And can you imagine a 4-door E21?
