I've got a 320i but was thinking of upgrading to a 325i or sport but not really sure of the difference between the two? Is it more than the M-tech body kit? Can you get the tri computer in a sport?
Thanks.
Whats the difference between a 325i and a 325i sport?

Hi there
Sports have opening rear quarters, Sport seats, mtech wheel, mtech (-15mm) suspension, mtech II or mtech I bodykit, close ratio gearbox, limited slip differential, Map reading lights, velour type carpeting, headlamp wash/wipe (mtech IIs) and black headlining.
Options are leather trim, OBC, Air Con, Rear headrests, rear blind etc
HTH
Whats the tri computer mate ?
Often they are referred two as having two computers - which is cack, they have a check control panel and an obc.
Oh and 325i / SE and Sport all share the same 170 BHP lump

I think he has a dodgy P button maybe...Splondike wrote:Whats the tri computer mate ?
That's a big list of differences, though the 2 or 3 grand extra you pay for them still surprises me

I can only put the extra premium down the the limited production run, I wanted one for that reason - oh and the bling
The Sports just have a set of options that really set off what was already a very nice car.

the only thing about my car thats not a sport is it doesn`t have the sport gearbox, i decided against it as you can reach 60 in 2nd with the standard box

how much less efficient is the whole close ratio gearbox? Like does it have an overdrive for motorways?
as for the tri computer I did in fact have a dodgy P and was enquiring about the littel thing next to the stereo which tells you how much further you can go and how fast your going and stuff. Can you get these on a sport, cause i've seen them on a 4 door "sport" but not on a coupe and i want a coupe.

The sport box and 3.91 diff make for low gearing so highish revs on the motorway mate, but there is too bigger gap between 2nd and 3rd on the standard box really so it suits some and not others. You are referring to the OBC so yes you can get one on a sport, but not standard its an option. Also there are no 4 door sports all came in 2 door body only.Hani wrote:how much less efficient is the whole close ratio gearbox? Like does it have an overdrive for motorways?

That's just a 13-button OBC, I think I'm right in saying you could get them as an option on any model, and they're easy enough to retrofit.
At a guess they're about Ԛ£80 I think, you just take your clock out (luckily I don't have a dodgy L
) and replace it with the OBC and then wire it up

thats, good i think i might get one, I guess all those 4door sports were indeed just body kits. Its weird i used to think good cars were like 5grand and even spent 2grand on a bicycle. But since paying 500 for my 320 the price of a sport seems really high but i guess its actually a real bargain.
