i am about to exchange auto box for a 5 speed getrag box and i have the prop and diff from the manual donor car. Would you advise using the diff from the manual or will the auto offer better ratios?

hi, its a 323i auto and the donor gearbox is from a 323i same year, 1983.

There are a few ratios for the 323, but as a rule if you use the auto diff for a manual car it will be geared to high,
i.e. the 325 has a manual ratio or 3.91 but the auto is 3.64, great for fuel but the 3.91 obviously make sthe car faster.

My spanner man hasnt done one on an e30 before, is it fairly straight forward swap. auto to manual?
