fuel pump problem 325i

got lot of noise from fuel pump by left rear wheel, some one told me taht ithe cause is the transfer pump in the tank any help most wellcome please

Hi Rob, welcome to the zone. What model E30 do you have? Fuel pumps on saloon/ 2 door models are usually situated behing the rear driver side wheel. If they are on their way out they usually make a fairly high pitched and constant whine. There's not much you can do other than replace them as far as I know. You get to them by taking out rear seat squab.
