Tubes, what are they?? Why haven't I got any?

What are the convoluted tubes on the left and right? I didn't have any when I took my centre console out to fit the alarm. Should I and will it make any differance?

Air vents to the rear seats. They emmerge just under the back of the front seats.

They duct the blower out under the front seats toward the rear passengers feet.

How much from the dealer do you recon? And do I really need them? I'm a bit of a stickler for originality so I'd better get some more. Actually sod that I'll get some off one in the scrappy next week.

They aren't likely to have gone missing. They were only fitted to higher specced cars.
The convoluted bits are only part of the system. There's large black plastic ducts screwed to the floor under the carpets as well.

Well it's an SE and has holes in the carpet with black plastic inside them, but I think maybe your right, can't really be bothered to take the centre console out again either.

my 4 door 318i had them but my 2 doors never did

It's a 2 door, that probably explains it then, more occasionl back seat passenger so the krauts probably thought it was unnessicary.
