Suspension and brakes. Going fast in a straight line is pretty boring IMO.
Without loads of work you won't be keeping up with Scobbie's or Evo's...

Zone chip and a decent panel filter in the standard airbox will help liven it up a little bit

Only time you will embarrass them is reliability, looks and build quality.
Scoobie's and Evo's will probably beat you in every race situation on the road/track.
Get a nice suspension setup and you will have a right hoot down some country lanes.

forget the brakes, except maybe making sure they are well serviced (decent pads and fluid), the 325 comes with discs all round so no major need to upgrade with the power you have.
Suspension is a good idea, to beat your mates in fun terms, evos and imprezzas can't drift(well) tho so you'll have that over them, practice that and get some decent supension.
The M20 is expensive to NA mod, just take a look at the evolve shop (link above) for prices to have a look.
But a decent chip could iron out the flat spots and make it more fun to drive.

1st mod, check you have NGK BPR6ES plugs fitted, anything else is NFG
2nd go get it dynoed in peak stock condition, then think about what next ?
Only way forwards is to build on what you have imho
unless you find out, its all irrelavant
