different mate. that's why everyone's on about 'type 2 e32/e34' mounts higher up in the thread: type 1 is for the older e28/e23 engine which has a different block.
i know you're probably fed up with me saying it but you really are better off using the later engine!

cheers for the pm beefy i am still interested but the car is off the road right now as its out of tax and mot.
i need to get hold of a few things and see if its good for an mot?
if the car is sound then i will buy the mounts continue with the 335! but the volvo is doing me proud at the moment! the 1.4 still goes sideways

Picked them up today and i was truly shocked with the quality and similarity with the de ones. It would be very diffecult to tell the two apart. Heres a pic

E30 M30 Mounts £100 pm me for info.
i am still thinking of getting a set
the car has been off the road for a while now but time and cash is stopping me getting the car back on the road.
i will be getting a few things this weekend to see if i can get the cooling system to work as i have left it for ages now. needed to not work on the car as it was doing my head in
now i want to get it going again so 1 question:
there are 2 holes at the base of the engine mount (bottom end that attaches bolts to the rubber mounts) why is there 2 holes? is it for adjustment and choice of position?
im worried about surface area and strain on the rubber mount. they do look good though

Choice of position. Wouldn't it have been better if they have drilled out the metal between the holes, so you could move the engine back and forth? Could help with getting a good manifold fit.ric325i wrote: there are 2 holes at the base of the engine mount (bottom end that attaches bolts to the rubber mounts) why is there 2 holes? is it for adjustment and choice of position?
Talking of manifolds (ever so slightly off topic, and I mentioned it elsewhere on the zone), but there is a supplier interested in making a RHD S/S manifolds for the M30 converstion at a favorable price. If your interested, register your support with the manufactures: hottuning@hottuning.eu They are looking for a tester.
no no no thats very bad!!! a bolt may not hold it in place and keep it there! your risking it sliding and not being locked in place!!!FlappySocks wrote:Choice of position. that reminds me, i've cured my overheating with a new thermostat, even though the old one seemed to work when i tested it (when i put the engine in)ric325i wrote:i will be getting a few things this weekend to see if i can get the cooling system to work as i have left it for ages now.

keep at it.
i've made myself a little pledge to annoy the hell out of you lot on here with updates and a few pics every so often to try and spur me on and get it done. hopefully it will keep me going. still feels like a long run uphill.
oh, and with the cooling system, the pipe that goes to the back of the engine from the thermostat. does that go to the top or bottom pipe from the heater matrix?
that question needs to be made a sticky, everyone has to ask it!BristolBulldog wrote:
