Evening all. I've got my first real headache of a problem and it's the alarm. Anyone had any experience with a 3T-E30 Alarm. This one on my touring has been put on after market by a dealer 11 years ago by the previous owner. I've had the car for a month and the alarm has taken to immobilising the car and setting the siren off. It didn't matter if car was locked or unlocked the alarm was randomly sounding.

I've checked all door switches (including bonnet) and they're all working. The random sirens has stopped but I haven't driven it for a few days so the back up battery might just be flat - the neighbours currently enjoying silence! The car will now start if I turn the key in the ignition and with pressing the fob. Oh yeah and for some reason replacing blown fuse no.28 started the alarm off as well.

Now before I start ripping this thing out and taking a hammer to it, has anyone had any experience with this type of alarm or have any wiring diags ete etc. Any thoughts gratefully recieved.

Cheers

From a Dealer point of view Rip the piece of Shite out and get a decent system.

They were a total nightmare with non stop problems the amount of times we had to
bypass them.

Sounds like the alarm has been programmed to auto arm itself after a cetain amount of time same with
immobiliser.

Your local dealer should have the tool to change these settings and check its staus.

Not got much money at the moment as I'm trying to sell my old car so I was hoping it was a case of "resetting" the alarm now I've checked most things. Too good an any idea to be true. So if I'm gonna rip it out, any suggestions on suitable replacement systems and ball park figures?
