Todays toil was excellent, 1961 Covette was 289 now 303 ci was originally carter carbed but today we swopped her to an EFI setup using a TPI kit from a mid 80's Camaro all running from MS

Got some starnge looks driveing the beast around with a laptop connected up, certainly caused a stir with a few visitors to Claremont Corvette, where the car is located.

a few pix, chromius alert !

Next one is a 424 Big Block in an LT3, with manual trans

Hmm, need to find a better home for some lazy SB power, the '61 was spinning the rears on a full throttle kickdown, 3 speed auto

Forgive the slightly OT nature, but this is one transplant that neds to be done( again , there was a 350 chevy powered e30 that belonged to a zoner waaaay back in the day)

You can use MS in conjunction with a conventional dizzy?

Way cool ride - pimp!

Maurice, yes dude you can indeed, jumper for opto-in and she'll run from a conventional dizzy, MSD, Mallory HEI, TFI or whatever, this is actually the generic application for the hardware.

This one is running the Mallory HEi type so although its a dizzy in the mechanical sense, its actually controlled via the ECU as were using the optical trigger and 8 rotors as an ECU trigger( as per the 60-2 we use on motronic ) to give engine speed and position to the MS, with the coil discharge timing controlled via the ECU.

Fully 3D mappable fuel and spark, had to be done.

Too right, thanks for explaining that Ant - I'm even more tempted to have a go at a MS conversion now :thumb:

Great set up mate! The car is a bit wrong but it is beautifully styled and now presumably a lot less thirsty on fuel. Got any pictures of the front of it? So you're in Tom's good books again then?
