Right, situation.

As i am turning 24 this year, I thought that I would treat myself to a 318is as I have been wanting one for the last two years. I have a good job and own my own home, been driving for the last 6 years and have a clean license, no accidents either.

I have a company car which i use during the weekdays and would be driving the IS on the weekends only and probably only cover around 2000 miles per annum.

The cost to insurance the IS, £2,500. :x

How can I get my premiums down?

Replies would be much appreciated. :D

2.5K is stupid money to insure a 318is. Most insurers don't even recognise it as different to a standard 318i. Do a bit of shopping around.

WTF how is that possible, have you double checked the details you entered and where did you get that price??

Try classic car insurers (limited mileage policy) or try www.confused.com

if you have no accidents or convictions, are 24, have 6 years driving, company car, and only intend on driving 2000 miles per anum you must have made a mistake on the qoute form.

I have near enough the same circumstances as you and ecar.com insure me on a 325 sport for £400 per year 8000 miles with 3 points. Don't live in N.I or Beruit by any chance???

As said above, can you find anyone who will insure it on a classic policy? Many will require you to be 25 but there will be some exceptions. One requirement of a lot of classic policies it that the car is not your main car, in your case it wouldn't be.
