I thought you had busters engine? 8O

Mounts - Ԛ£110 (from Karan?)
Engine+Box+ECU+Loom etc Ԛ£500 max
E30 M3 Prop ~Ԛ£100
Exhaust Fabircation ~Ԛ£100

Looking at less than Ԛ£1000 easy all in all.

Could probably be done for Ԛ£500 if you know some people and get a couple of good deals on the way.

i am getting busters. my bro is bugging me now for busters engine, so i am just considering the 335. i would love that extra power and i dont think it would cost much more than doing the 2.5 conversion, if i can get hold of a decent 5, and sell all the bits from it taking what i will need.

This is true.

The cost would probably be similar since you are going 4->6pot.

It is an E34 engine yeah, covered 120k but had a rebuild at 80k.

It's completely dry.

Nelly (Neil) who drove the E34 it came out of, said it pulled very well.

I am yet to collect it from his house where it is under cover.

It is still coupled to an auto box, so you'd need a manual box.

PM me if you're interested, and we could have a deal if you like. Completely up to you. :)

No problems mate.

One of us will be 3.5, and the other will be 2.5 slightly fettled soon!

The deal will involve a bit of cash going from me to you by the way!

The engines got an auto loom, so you might need a manual one. Andy335 has got a manual ecu which I was going to buy so I could include that.
It needs a few bits sourcing, so it's up to you.

I expect nothing, just let me know if you wanna swap. I will happily go ahead with my 3.5, but the 2.5 would be a bit easier for me since mine is already 2.5.

Whatever you decide is cool.

A little bit yes.

I am just considering easier options. This is a slightly fettled 2.5 and mine is already 2.5 so it'd be easier.

Once I finish Uni, I'll have more time to sort it all outl, so maybe I should stop being a girl and do it.

Sorry to be naughty Nav, but I'm gonna pull out of this one before you consider it!

You'll be more than happy with the 2.5 anyway to be honest! :D

Sorry anyway.

Toby do you reckon it'll be much harder to drop an M30 in an E21?

don't know much about e21s, but it can certainly be done! TWR sold an e21 335i using a 635csi engine back in 1982... and that was the older jetronic-injected m30 which has a bulkier inlet plenum sitting over the top of the engine. got a good road test by tiff needell of that car if you wanted to know more about it... 5.6 secs to 60 is says, from 218bhp....

i was thinking about an e21 for my conversion before i bought the e30.

If you could sort me out the road test and anyother information you have on them that'd be great toby.

This last week i've really started to lean more towards doing an E21 335 rather than an E30, look even more menacing then the E30 when they are slammed.

Would've thought you'd like the sound of that Karan

Surely someone out there has found a suspension set up that sorts the handling.

it is dynamically flawed as is the e30 in a way due to the excessive angle on the trailing arms from the subframe... this causes sudden changes in camber angle on compression.... also try finding a good one.... i love the looks of them too but for me the e30 is modern enough for a daily driver, i doubt the e21 would be.....

so long as the body is solid i'm not overly bothered if it needs a bit of work on it. Wouldn't want to use it as a daily driver for similar reasons that you suggest, will be keeping my 318iS to drive daily.

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that the trick to making these handle is to keep the rear suspension softer than the front, apparently helps to put the power down

Sounds like it may work, but i'm no expert at this kind of thing.

Heres the E21 i could be getting, sound like it's in bloody good condition.
