got my first e30 in feb this year, its only a 318i, but we all start somewher,I have slowly put it together to make it my tech 2 wannabe it is today, my baby boy is nearly 6 months now so progress has been slow but the few pennies i have had have amounted to this, i bought the car for £200 (came with BBS's with new tyres all round, so it was silly not to buy it), bought the kit for £200 as it had damage, a month later the fuel pump went costing me £140 so that set me back again, but since fitted eyebrows and done a few other minor bits and heres what it looks like so far: over all it owes me £600, honest opinions please and suggestions (especialy how much i could get away with lowering her) many thanks, Dan Image

looks good especially based on your budget, but £140 for a fuel pump! :screwy: 8O

its looking nice and clean ,good condition and well presented so overall id say your doing pretty well so far.
as for lowering it ,the back looks low already but the front looks like it could do with a -40 to level it up imo.

nice looking car you got there mate. no shame in having a 318, its an e30 so thats all that counts. you can lower it as much as you like. it all depends on what ride your after. 60/40 drop would look cool but i'd go for a 40/40 low but not to low. keep up the good work. all good things come to those who wait. doing abit at a time is the best way in my eyes, that way you notice the changes that you've done. keep the photos coming as you progress. :D

There was a superb breakers in Chobham http://uk.local.yahoo.com/England/Surre ... 02176.html, tucked away down a wooded lane - used to spend many a happy hour browsing around there, clambering around the assorted wrecks - none of my local ones allow this any more :x

There was another quite good one in Sunbury.

Nice looking car so far and all for six hundred quid! Dont wory about the 1.8 lump, can always change it for an is engine or a 6 cylinder of some kind later on. If your going to lower it and change the engine at some point it may be worth changing the front struts to 51mm ones from the 45mm you will probably all ready have. Where abouts in Surrey are you?

My plans for the future are to lower it by 40mm, dutch plates, try and sort some black leather trim,
get it ZONE stickered up and just a general tidy up as it has a few scabby bits here and there, and also a bloody good service.
