ok a plan has been hatched......... as soon as the project car, e30 m5, is done.....im gonna sell the sport and run around in the poject car, ill buy a tourer and a 4.4 v8 lump and drop it in the tourer.......
what are thoughts on that..... near 300hp of 4.4 v8 rightness...... and its pretty light too... and i reckon it can be done on the money from the sport....

ive already found somewhere that sell the mounts in the states...
only BIG proble seems the brake servo clearance issue.... most ppl who do it move the maser cylinder and vacuum servo to the front of the bay near the nearside headlights.... using an extended linkage from the bulkhead it seems..... doesnt seem too hard..... another thought froma US site..... m20=258lbs, m60=300lbs
so barely any weight gain and it would be positioned rear wards slightly too

Stick a big diesel in there instead, save yourself having to fill the load area with a second petrol tank!

im looking for something here to replace the sport which is very accomplished in all areas..... just want the extra power and high speed driftability that comes from 300hp and good weight distribution.... v8 soundtrack kicks ass.... i would not even consider selling my sport for less than 5k so if it doesnt sell i keep it..... still long way to go yet....towards end of summer when the other car is done is when i will decide what to do..... basically want a quick car for road use and track.drift use...... not worried bout consumption as im sure this wont be too bad in a light car.... as for diesel......its not exactly sporty is it..... good for daily use though..

Best idea youve had in a long while.
318i Badged 2.7 Touring is gonna be so cool!
Youll lose the chav sport image in the process aswell.

If it's a similar engine to the late Range Rover lump, they sound awesome with phat pipes.
This could be awesome.
Karan could 'own' two of the countries quickest E30's. Which isn't fair.

Excellent mate!
I put the own, in inverted commas implying the part-ownership!

Dave & Karan, Karan in particular if you've got some big power, do you fancy a trip to York dragway in July, there's gonna be a bit of a beemer thing going on and there's a load of E36 boys turning up who reckon they can take us. Fancy giving the old girl a bit of stick?? I know a bit of a treck for you both but it should be really good
