325i engine swap

Hey anyone have advise for me on installing an engine (M20 motronic) into an 1987 325i. Basically its a question of time saving as I dont have my own place to work on the car so I have the weekend to drop in the engine! The question : are you quicker to take the complete engine and loom from the ecu or is it quicker to remove the loom from the engine. The later means removing the inlet manifold / fuel rail & injectors. Id like to see some of your opinions

leave everything you can on engine, especially the wiring loom,
i swapped mine in a day
