just a few questions tho.......

1, the oil light on the control pannel above the Rear View mirror came on.... the oil level is between min and max? ill pop down the garage to get some more oil is this right?

2. one of the reasons i used to get the price down Ԛ£400 was because the PAS light was on on the dash? what would cause this? steering feels fine?

3. where does everyones temp guage sit? in normal driving then stuck in traffic on a warm day?

ps thanks in advance!
Thanks for your help!

1. oil light could be triggered by a faulty sender unit! as long as it isnt using LOTS of oil its prob ok!

2. the (0) liht is a brake wear indicator- check the sensors on front right wheel...my just have had pads fitted without the wear sensors (like mine  ) so check the pads thickness.

3. Temp gauge should sit about 1/2 way or slightly above once up to temp, no higher really, even in traffic

front discs are about Ԛ£20 inc vat each from www.gsfcarparts.com

personally i'd upgrade to at least zimmerman discs all round with pagid fast road pads (cost me Ԛ£200 for 4x discs, full set of front and rear pads and 4x flexi pipes  )

the brakes are the e30's biggest fault IMO

No they're not, they're just all 10-15 years old now and havent been looked after. The brakes are fine, well they are no way near as bad as everyone makes out they are. If you really want to stop quicker spend your money on proper tyres :D

Mate it's totally my opinion too, each to his own and all that.
Does the 320 have discs all round?
Standard brakes properly set up and maintained should be better than any Dagenham dustbin

Best one is dropping the I from FIAT, dropping the P from PUNTO and putting the O in front of it, after modifying it so it's a C of course

Im sure i dont know what you mean! 8O ,i had an altercation(cough) with a clio full of burberry boys the other day,it was a 3 year old clio with probably 2k's worth of bodykit, wheels, speakers etc,and came alongside me at the lights, sat there revving the nuts of the clioand as the lights changed i let him go in a flurry of wheel spin.......and i just pulled away and floored it,i think he went backwards! ,bearing in mind i have an 18 year old 320i that looks scruffy at the moment, and he had a three year old clio............. ,i stopped for fuel further on and he pulled in and they all came over to see 'What motor's in it?'....i just smiled and said german mate! made me smile for a while :D

honestly, give it a go-fairly easy

oh and make sure the garage set the valve clearances when the engine is COLD

If it's running a bit rough, spluttering when going from idle to open throttle and your getting bad mpg etc follow the guide I wrote on sorting it out. (assuming it's a 6 pot motor)

http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... 0977#80977

As for escort brakes V E30's...

as long as the brakign system is up to scratch an E30's should be better, alot better.

What colour does it say on the front N/S suspension turret?

Looks like Mineral Blue, very rare E30 colour.
