Yes, you have to pull the driver's or passenger's door handle up and turn the key hard round (you may have to release and re-do it two or three times) but perservere and eventually it will open the door!

or if you want to get under neath get a spare battery and a set of jump leads attach the leads to the battery under the bonnet from underneath then down to the battery outside and turn the key in the door

you'll be there a while, it's under the rear seat!!!! on a E34!whipsey wrote:or if you want to get under neath get a spare battery and a set of jump leads attach the leads to the battery under the bonnet from underneath then down to the battery outside and turn the key in the door
on my wifes one, when this exact thing happened, it took a little while fiddling but i think you have to open the drivers lock with the door handle open (or part open) it wasn't exactly like the guides but this may be due to wear or something. anyway, faffing with the lock and door handle combinations for a few mins will do it!
i have heard that unlocking the boot and connecting 12V across the boot light will do it but that's a bit unnecessary if the lock thing works!

Gareth/Whipsey all the 535's 530's and some 525's have the battery under the rear seat. The rest have it in the usual place under the bonnet

Yep i'm sure you just put the key in the lock and turn whilst lifting the handle up and down a few times, or pump it if you like.
