Mini 850 when I was 6 followed by a few more various mini's. But my first car with a valid licence was a Gt beetle jeans model powered by a porshe 912 1944cc motor. I still miss it. Crashed it through someones fence and nearly ened upin there living room. Still drove home in it to.

oh you will love this
1991 Skoda Favorit 1.3
this of course was pre-VW influence when Skodas were nice and cardboardy. it had power nothing, manual steering (actually I've rarely owned a power steering car) 4 gears etc.
was sold to my aunt who let my thick cousin learn to drive in it, he drove it home from work one day, 25 miles on the motorway with the temp needle off the gauge, steam out of the engine bay and the oil light on.... it didnt start the next day suprisingly, or ever again

Ford Fiesta XR2 in red. Cost me £3000 of hard earned milk round money. Not a very good entrance into car ownership as I had to replace shocks, clutch, exhaust, alternator plus some fooker tried to rob it.
I thought myself lucky as it only cost me £500 third party to insure in '91 but a year later a mate got one and was paying £1000.

Your first car was a Jag?? F*ck me!!! My dad had a 4ltr Sovreign when I was 17 and I drove it a couple of times and it wouldnt go into the parking spaces my XR2 would!! Plus I wouldve thought you'd get the same questions that I did.....'Out in daddies car are we'?schnaarf wrote:3.6ltr straight 6 Jaguar Sovereign 1989 off ebay! £300, a bargin. it was 1981 and the car was a 1966 mini 850 super deluxe!!!! Caned it till it died then stuck a 998 cooper lump in with a close ratio straight cut box in it. Thought it was a rocket ship back then. We resprayed LYN 422D in Ford Diamond White and put a black vinyl roof on it with a roof aerial. Set of Cooper reverse steels, Huntmaster recliners, rokee wood dash, moto lita wheel and a hi fi went into it and it looked the dogs. Well I thought it did!

keep em coming!
keep em coming!

1 year old BMW E46 330d at the age of 18 - back when my dad was doing well and didn't need it anymore..... Was a nice intro to car ownership! Car after that, bought under my own steam, was a 35 year old Series III landrover - bit of a shock to the system that was!! Still got the Landy sat in a barn waiting for restoration, but bought my current E30 320i when I realised it was cheaper than a new gearbox (£250) for the landrover. Still drive the E46 occasionally but tbh it's nowhere near as fun as the E30. It's my dad's daily driver now he's had to sell his porshce 911 (and his yacht, his brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee and his chalets in Scotland and France
Oh well, at least I had a nice childhood

Mine was a 1991 E200 Merc, had it for a year and then lost my E30 virginity with a 1989 320 4 door auto. Not the most exciting of E30's but since then I've had 7 of them. None of them since have been my daily driver.

A 1.1 mk3 fiesta classic special edition (ie the new shape was just about to come out so the stuck a classic badge on all the old ones they hadn't shifted yet). It was great. The sort of car that teaches you all about carrying speed through corners because there was no acceleration to speak of. Brakes were only needed for steering. Engine was a shocker and didn't last very long in my hands before it started using as much oil as petrol. I'd have another though. Maybe one with slightly more than 40bhp though.

My first car was a Mini. Built it myself at the age of sixteen - seventeen by rebuilding the mechanicals of a written off Wolseley Hornet (posh mini with a boot) into a brand new mini shell.
This gave me a mini with 150cc more than average, leather seats and wind up windows! Engine soon got modified into a 1000cc screamer which served me well for 3 - 4 years until it dropped a valve on a German autobahn.
I really should keep away from German autobahns!

For my first 8 months of driving I used my parents 1300 GL mk 1 Astra until I bought my first and current car for £500 with 154,000 miles on the clock. A 1989 E30 316i, had it 4 years and now with 175,000 miles, first years insurance cost £1200 tpf&t. Luv'd parking it amongst the Novas and Festers at college.
brand new mk 4 fiesta zetec lx with 3 years free insurance(the only reason i bought a new car) and it was a belter, used to give it loads of abuse down propper back roads, actually still miss her

for sale one left kidney, high mileage, need slight bit of work, will p/x for front wings and rear qtr panelsbigun wrote:sell my sport i'd rather f**k the dog
1993 'K' Reg Vauxhall Nove 1.2i merit plus...........Got it in 1999, It had only 2 owners from new and only covered 34k................It was mint condition,Well it was until i got my hands on it
