Hi ive got an e plate M3 and today my indicators stopped working. First I changed the fuse which got them working off the hazard switch but they wont work off the indicator stalk. I have removed the wheel and plastic casing and there is what looks like a relay cleaned it up but still nothing. The fact that they work on the hazard switch does it mean its the stork which is broken? Any help would be appreciated. Is there another relay under the bonnet for them?

Don't know much about M3s, but in lesser E30s,(post facelift, at least,) the indicators and hazard system use the same flasher module.

Pull out the hazaed light switch, and check for 12V at pin 5 (green/purple), with a 5W 12V lamp, with the ignition on.
If this lights, then connect a 21W lamp between pin 4 (green/yellow) and earth, still with the ignition on. This should flash rapidly.
If both these tests give positive results, then your problems are with the indicator switch itself, or it's plug and socket.
This is for post facelift E30s. Assuming M3 is the same in this area.

sorry about the delay but i still have this problem have checked all wiring, replaced flasher relay, and have replaced the whole switch unit (from a 318is dont know if this is a problem) but it still doesnt work i dont know what else to try, also when i bought the car the guy said if i press the elec sunroof switch it shorts out the mirrors so car could have dodgy wiring is there any easy way to check the cabling for mirrors sun roof and indicators etc?

Have you done the tests exactly as I described above, and what were the results? Electrical fault finding is a logical process, that involves tests, and then, depending on the results of those tests, performing further tests, each time moving closer to the problem.
The electric roof is fed by a single power feed wire up the left screen pillar, and there is no wiring, including earthing points, that changes state with the roof switch that comes within about 800mm of any of the door mirror wiring ( unless you mean the lights on the M3 rinterior mirror).
