If you mean a weezy, high revvy, no torque multi-valve engine I'd rather have my M20 thanks!

...my Corolla is just that - it's no where near as much fun as my E30 for fast road use, but will be a hoot on track days when I'm done with her. winkeye

BTW, those Westfield boys at Callander really made an impression on you, eh?
whats a westfield ??? winkeye
had enough of e30's, could spend thousands on an e30 and still my little £9k westfield would make mincemeat of it.

.
You dont buy an e30 for the same reason youd buy a westy though.

My 325i Sport is by far the slowest car i have , still love it though.

I'm sure the S2000 engine is awesome in the right application and imo thats a lightweight racer. Arial Atom, Westfield cars like that don't need the torque as much as a relatively lardy and un-aerodynamic E30. Give the E30 something that suits its character better. In my book thats 6 cylinders and a lot of torque. Whether you get that NA or FI is up to you :)

Obviously if you're the sort of person who likes a revvy E30 (iS owners step up!) then you might disagree :)

I would pass on the honda lumps and fit a SR20-DET from an S14 200SX, 4 pot still for good weight distribution and plenty of opportunity for more power.

Mmmm…you cant knock Honda engines really, the v tec system isn't a worry like the minefield of buying a car with the dreaded word “Vanosâ€a.

Their Nicasil bores don't fall apart like BMWs did in the 90's. regardless of fuel,(which was a cop out IMHO, they just didn't make a durable enough coating) they don't (later models) need “preciousâ€a super unleaded petrol and they make awesome power.

Early E46 M3's shat their bottom ends out as well didn't they?

Has BMW made an engine with oval pistons, 2 conrods and 2 spark plugs per pot and put it into production? Honda did back in 1992

I don't like the looks of any of their cars but their engines are well made and last.
