you're best off having a good search and read through the forum firstly.
search for M30 and have a few evenings spare to read through it all!

...with a few lies.
eg, you can use an auto engine, loom and ecu. just fit a manual box, flywheel, clutch and spigot bearing in the crank.
in the real world, only an electric fan will fit.
in P3, a E34 535i rad will fit.
the standard E30 M3 prop will work without mods in P1, P2 and P3

ther's probably a few others too! good site for a read through

how did you use the standard prop?
mine had to be cut and shut to mix the 535i gearbox and the 3 series dif.

also the lengths are very different

how did you use the 325 prop, apart from the length issue the front flange is smaller than that on a 535i gearbox isn't it?

My prop's with Charde's still. It had been shortened once before i got it!. Turns out that i couldn't fit anything radiator wise, unless it was in the farthest back postin.

335i.de says you have to modify the bulkhead, i didnt.

Looking for a slim rad e28 is it? failing that i will shoehorn the e30 auto rad i had in there.

What did you guys do with the feed off the oil cooler? I am considering getting pipes made to feed it to the auto oil cooler on the auto rad?

i think you will need a 535 rad just because the rad is bigger isnt is?

i beat the bulk head to set the engine further back for better weight balance and to the rad will actually fit in.

so many different ways but they all work

maybe the convertible has a different bulkhead (i doubt it). but 335.de's brackets have the engine mounted right back, and it fits (literally just though, just like your pic).

the other rads actually appear to have less heat dissipation. Whilst larger, they are alot thinner.

i can get the 325i auto rad in there, but i may have to stump up for the e28 rad your also looking for. ECP do them right? probably around £140 though?

325 rad if in good nick will work fine :D I know cause I'm using one and yep you can get the E28 one new for around £140 from ECP.

On the bulkhead front... it's really strange as everyone says different, I do sometimes wonder what position people actuall have there engines in, not what they think.... God knows what mines in, I had to "adjust" the bulkhead a lot and my M3 prop only just fitted on it's shortest setting and that was using some E30.de copies from karan on here... up front I've got the standard 325 rad and can get a finger between it and the dizzy cap.

Good luck with it all mate :thumb:

on mine, i probably have 10 - 15mm of adjustment left on the M3 prop. i have the thinner E28 rad and can't get a finger in there!
i'm using e30.de mounts and i drilled a hole between P2 and P3 (P2.5 winkeye ) for the mounting.

i'm using the furthest back mounting on the 335i.de mounts.

I went for position2, but could fab up to fit my rad infront on the bulkhead.

I put it on the second position (that equates to p3) and can have my original 325i rad at an angle. The dizzy's still a bitch to get around though. The engine had to literally be shoe-horned into place, and i used the weight of the engineresting on the two poly engine mounts, two 17 stone blokes with a rope attached to the output shaft on the back of the gearbox, and a lot of heave-ho to get the thing in there. Seems to have card thickness clearance now, so happy with that.

These mounts.
