Hi,

Just bought my first E30 to add to the collection and what a cracking car it is.
Its a Cecotto with 73k km but unfortionatly just has a gap with a bit of sticky mess where the plaque I presume identifying (x of 505) should sit. If I got in contact with BMW do you think this is something they could source, or is it now lost forever?

It also came with 17" schnitzers 215/45 & 235/40 on the rear which of course aren't the standard size, but I believe from doing some googling that the tyres should be the same width front and rear?

I'm also after a set of the original 16" BBS alloys which so far, seem to be like rocking horse droppings to get hold of, and can anyone recommend a full carbon airbox/plenum as these look the dogs. 8)

Sorry for all the questions in one hit, but any help with any of them would be much appreciated. You might be able to tell, I'm pretty excited :o:

standard tyre size on evos is 225 45 16 all round. although i have the same 215 45 17 and 235 40 17 combination as you on my car at the moment and prefer how it drives on them. a bit less sidewall flew and a lot more grip, yet it doesnt seem to have increased understeer, just means you get a wider neutral slidey area to play with. less sidewaysey, but no more understeery. which while not so great for internet bragging and pub bravade, does make it nicer to properly throw about allong some back roads
cheers,

harry

Lovely M3. What interests me more, however, is that if's that's a TVR in the background...

Lovely looking car. I don't think you can get a plaque anymore, I did once look into it.

Yes C/F airboxes do look the nuts but they sound even better!

With the C/F airbox you need Alpha-N so not really a straight forward job.

Cheers guys, going to get the airbox asap. I'm a 'Ring' addict and all the M3's seem to be running them and the sound is to die for. 8)

Yeah thats my Cerb, and the Maser is Dads.

Hero!!!

Get a set of cams in there while you're at it! 284/284, C/F airbox and Alpha-N will transform the car into an animal!

Cams will come in time, just had to spend over a grand with BMW today ordering the last 4 in the UK (according to BMW) 16" rims to bring it back to completely original.

Anyone fancy 4 AC's with brand new (budget-ish) tyres?

Ouch! I would do the cams with the C/F airbox or before and then get it remapped with the Alpha-N which it will need anyway.

Its always up to me to give the Maserati some stick, for its size it can't half shift.. It might be 100hp down on the M5, but around the ring it has no problem keeping up with the ring taxis.
