Thanks for your comments!!
Just a couple more pics.........

Wheels just had 2 coats of paint.

Looking dirty indeed, lights out while spraying the headlight rings and cleaning inside the lenses (very hard task) Thats without removing the actual glass from the light itself.

This is it now for a while as I'm getting married later this Month and spending time on the beemer has come to an end
(for now anyway)
Thanks again for your comments, it's good to hear what you have to say.
I have her on the road now and apart from a sticky front caliper I'm really really pleased with this car. It's so quiet when driving, and still feels tight
. The caliper is a bugger tho!! Gutted really. I set off for my first long drive to find 5 miles into it a wobbly steering wheel, and lack of power. When I pulled over the drivers side front wheel was red hot, the heat coming off it was intense! After letting it cool down I had no other choice but to return home
. Its ok on local short journeys but once it all starts to heat up, it expands and applies the brake. I have had it looked at and lubed up which I was told it should be fine, no actual problem, but it was just the same when I got it back, so it must be the caliper. Going to try and get one this week. Then all will be good
(hopefully)
Final pictures I have just taken with the steelies on.

Not brilliant pics but thats all I had time for.
Cheers.
Alan.

Reminds me of a driving tester's car I used to know. Just the job for 'steeling' yourself for married life

Well, I have the chrome bands but I'm a little unsure about putting them back on.
Would it have come out of the factory with them on??

Bloody hell thats older than mine! very nice example and always good to see another chrome being looked after, not many left these days. Well done and keep up the good work mate!
M20B25 actually
Minty looking car
Just out of interest peeps but is the hazard warning switch in a different place on saloons. I just mention it as my rear wash and wipe switches are next to each other on mine.

I see you have a digital clock, I had one on my chrome 316 but have an analogue clock in my tourer. I think the analogue clock looks better and would be a be a bit more "period". But if it came with a digital and you want to keep it as it was ................... im waffling sorry

i agree with cotty, the analogue looks better, but dude, its your car, do what you want to it..... it looks hot
might have to take the route your taking, would like to do some subtle mods on mine, nothing major, but dont know if i will be able to afford it a just bought a house, so big up the standardness all the way.......
glad to see that not everyone on this site HAS to go down the "MOD THE CRAP OUTTA IT" route
take it easy, keep us informed, congrats on the marriage

Cheers Guy's
I know exactly what you mean about the clock. I dont actually like it at all, but imagine back in 1983 when the salesman was boasting about a digital clock!!
I would much prefer the analogue clock, but its staying as it is!!
Good news with the caliper, its free'd itself off! drives perfect now.

Not that sort of banding, the sort which gives the wheel a Euro deep dish look.theweekendhaslanded wrote:Rosc0PColtrane wrote:Yes!!!!!
