Ive just have a o2 bung welded into the X pipe of the SS exhaust for one of these sensors to be fitted and yes they are accurate if in the correct operating range but if you were to go one more you would fit a ETG on each cylinder.

Thats the cheap part, you would need this to run it.

Yes in a way,
You will need a bung to be welded into the exhaust, but i would expect one to be there already if ant had done any mapping on your car etc.

I'd guess that the first gauge is just a guess based on a NB sensor.
One way or the other, the read out isn't useful as it doesn't tell you what the AFR actually is!

but surely if the gauge shows you running rich, it means the AFR if out?Turbo-Brown wrote:I'd guess that the first gauge is just a guess based on a NB sensor.

If you want the gauge just for info only and are not going to be adjusting the AFR, then its fine......
But if you want to use one to adjust AFR, then you need one that tells you what the AFR is.......

This is just it.
For full power, you want to be running rich to the tune of around 12.5:1 odd (possibly a tad richer if you're boosting a lot just to keep things cool), that gauge just says "rich" but doesn't quantify it.
Also, NB sensors are only accurate at 14.7:! or there abouts. Any other mixture and they'll just say "rich" or "lean" but not by how much.
You're much better off saving for a proper WBO2 kit as trying to tune with a NB sensor is a total dead end

Erel,
I use the LC-1 WB controller and MS to view/log it, the units are about £150 or so and can be sourced within the UK, I can pass on the details if required.
With the XD1 you get the WB display to slap in the dash but having always got the laptop on I haven't bothered with the gauge.
If you're gonna splash out on anything like this I would suggest the AFR/EGT gauge as you get lots of very usefull info from them.
HTH, Mark.
