hi I have recently bought a 325i sport auto 1991 and wondered what the ecu type thing in the boot is near the electrical aerial
the ECU is in the normal place on the drivers side under dash so what could this be as it looks the same and even has the same type of plug?
any help would be good

It is the auto box brain,i'm not sure what you've got in your boot ?
Did the previous owner convert it from auto to manual and leave the brain fitted ?

bit big to just control auto box but thanks least i know now
