can i buy the crome strips or does it need new the whole lot replacing and if so how do i fit them any one ?
As far as I know you can still buy them, or you could replace them with the black strips.
Its fairly easy to change them, just time consuming. You need to remove the joining clip (just prise out of rubber with a small, thin screwdrivew) and then you can just pull the old chrome strip out. DO NOT LEAVE IT AOUT AND DRIVE THE CAR AS THE WINDSCREEN IS UNSECRURE WITHOUT IT!!!!!
Then the tricky but is putting the new one in. You just need to take your time, start from the bottom (where the original one started/finished) and tuck it into the rubber all the way round, I used plenty of WD40 to help it go in and helped tuck it in with a small screwdriver, just be careful you dont split the rubber (well its never good if you split the rubber!).
Its not difficult and aslong as you take your time with it, you will be fine.

I had mine changed to black and it did improve the looks of the car as it's got no chrome on. Slipped the windscreen fitter a few quid and he did it for me.Steviec wrote:As far as I know you can still buy them, or you could replace them with the black strips.

Fiary liquid works really well for putting the strip back in also. You can buy a tool to help you off ebay for about 4 quid. A small screwdriver works ok also though, doesnt take too long once you work up a rhythm.
