Just thought anyone who's interested might like to have a look at what I'm currently driving... hence the sale of my other Motorsport, the 1989 that's currently in the For Sale ads.
I bought this one last August, after it failed to hit its (ridiculous) reserve on eBay. I still paid quite a bit for it, but I can tell you, it's like a four year old car, having only done a genuine 47000 miles!
Everything about it is pretty much as-new. Totally original, the engine is so quiet and sweet, yet pulls like a train, and the hardtop it came with has no bubbles whatsoever. I doubt it's ever seen rain. The leather is as supple and gorgeous as it was when it came from the showroom.
I'm pretty lucky to have found this and think I'll be keeping it for a good few years!
Anyway, just thought you might like to see it...

Absobloodylutely stunning! Original cars like this should imo be left as factory standard! Soooooooooooo nice, BMW got the styling right on this one and you have stumbled on a peach! Lucky man, congrats to you!

Crikey! I didn't expect to get so much response, so thank you! Glad you all appreciate these gorgeous cars as much I do.
It's my daily runabout, so if any of you are in the west London area you might see me cruising around in her. Give me a toot if you do!
In the meantime, if anyone knows of someone who'd like to buy my other Motorsport, please direct them to either the ad section on this site, Autotrader online, the BMW Car Club ads, or - though I hate to say it! - eBay from tomorrow (Saturday) morning. Many thanks for any help.
Shame this convertible-type weather is ending at the weekend for the time being, but doubtless it'll be back soon.
Thanks again for all your nice comments...

PS. I've just altered the stated mileage, because it's actually done less than 46,500! Maybe the clock counts backwards. JOKE!

Keep her standard and keep hold of it mate.... wonder how much the value of it will rise over the next few years if you still have it.

Very nice indeed. 8)

Thanks for all your comments, guys.
Nothing non-standard will ever be put on this car. It would be sacrilege! They were perfect when first produced, so why change a thing...?!
As for selling, I couldn't put a price on it. I probably paid well over the top, but with the as-new hardtop, to me it was worth every penny, especially with the reactions I constantly get.
If I did let it go though, it would be on this site, so keep an eye out, cos you NEVER know...!
Thanks again for all the positive comments...

Nobby,

Mine came with the rear Headrest conversion from the factory.
Is your electric hood fully functional?.

Cheers Gareth.

Totally fully-functional, yes. This is the second Motorsport I've had, and both had working soft-tops. Touch wood, cos I know I've possibly been lucky...!
I'd like it to have rear headrests - the last one did - but really don't want it to have anything it didn't have originally.

Under your rear bench, there should be a paper label.
This will tell you the No of the car in the second production run.

Cheers Gareth.
