Has anyone got any ideas on a sump guard or skid plate for a 318 is.
I`ve been looking at my sump and it looks very vulnerable to kerbs etc.
It must be light weight - its for racing not ralying.

Looking at a rally e30 a few days ago, which was fitted with a fairly substantial sump guard. The fitment comprised of two rail plates (bolted to the underside of the rails just ahead of the engine bed) which were L section. To these were welded two tube spars that spanned the rails width and formed in a shallow U shape (if viewed from front/behind). Three additional longtitudal tube bars spanned the gap between the tube spars.
But a sump guard, by it's very nature is designed to provide extra protection to a sump from curbs, stones and stuff that generally is going to do damage so therefore should be relatively substantial.
This may be the very same one I looked at and noticed (behind the hefty diamond plate).
