Alarm keeps going off - but why?

Parked my car outside my house tonight as usual, set the alarm and left it. Since then I've been out to it 3 times to reset the alarm after it's gone off for no apparent reason.

It's getting a bit late now so I've just locked the doors and left it with the immobiliser set.

I thought it might have been the cat to start with but she's in now, and it's gone off twice since then, at about half hour intervals.

I can't see any obvious reason for it to go off, so any ideas?

its been quite windy of late, wouldnt be the shock sensor would it? might be worth turning the sensitivity down.

Mine went off abut 5 times on Sat. night and I figured at the end it was the wind buffeting the car after coming off the wall the car was in frnt of. Either that or the wind was entering the car and tripping the interior sensors.

I had to go out at 1:00a.m. and turn the f*cker off. That said, I did hang around to see if there was some toerag expecting me to do this so he could have his way with my motor. Luckily, nobody about. I then moved it into a line of parked cars so the car at the front took the wind and I got a peaceful sleep.

Yesterday at the Ace Cafe, the alarm was going mental. It was all these bass junkies shaking the ground and the car was not happy. I moved it a couple of times but these guys just turn up the volume or some other nutter turns up with more subs.

Check to see of the boot is closing properly.

The catch on the boot lid can come loose so the boot light stays on, which should set the alarm off. It happened on mine twice, although the second time the boot catch had actually broken.

sounds stupid but you've not got out hanging from your rear view mirror have you??? magic trees, beads etc etc ... if it is a bit windy and the car rocks/ moves the ultrasonics pick up the swaying of the afore mentioned and sets of the alarm.....

Thanks for the thoughts guys, I still haven't tracked down what caused it though...
It does seem to be ok today, so far anyway - suppose I've just cursed it now though

open or close the air vents, can help cabin pressure. a slowly discharging battery can play havoc with an alarm. give it a full charge....might help
