It would be a lot cheaper for me to lose a few kilo's! Get back to my karting weight.... 10 stone ringing wet! :D

Your right, the car is pretty much there. Just wiring, a few brackets and underseal really. Just time and effort really. Glass would be the only really big loss but I'll have to see which way I go.

Did you make the wiring loom yourself for the other one or was it a bespoke one?

Yep that 100% to PBMW regs, with a heafty cage in it too made from CDS NOT T45

As said no GRP, cutting or removal of any standard BMW panel, all glass still in, just very good attention to detail

Its a prefacelift car which gives it a good headstart, all underseal has been removed, and all the usual bits from inside

Its an M20 engine too, so a 318 gould get even lighter

Its probably the lightest you could go in race stat without the expense of Carbon or GRP, althouogh a SD cage would probably bring that figure down

Looking forward to getting mine on the scales as its an early car too :)

not my car but a mates

320 btw
Thats a PBMW spec 320, before balast has been put in

All metal, no fibre glass, no cutting to original panels etc, with an extreme Custom cage in, standard tank etc
Then how do they get them so light if aren't allowed fibreglass/ CF or cutting ?

150kg's is a fair amount of weight to remove. It's the weight of 2 reasonably heavy people. It sounds easy but it isn't, especially when you have to put a cage in as well. As Jimmy said it's all in the detail.
