F*ck me... I'm going to clean mine up, spray it shiny and sell it on to one of the mugs that pays that money for an old, outdated car.
Whats with 325 sports?

A classic in the making yes, a classic, no.
Scaggy dolescum families don't drop their kids to school then head off to asda to fill their freezers with ready meals in e-types, cheap-ass students don't buy rusty mustangs as a runabout, people like me dont take db6's and spray them matt black, weld the diff and drift them til they pop.... the e30 is NOT a classic.
I wont go any further than that in this topic though.

cheap old car... if that makes it an affordable classic, then yes, in the same way as a datsun cherry is an 'affordable classic'.

yes it does.
If you search the web you will find cherry owners clubs. I have a friend thats just bought a cherry turbo and he has found a wealth of advice and information on various 'enthusiast' sites.

i had 4 door like this with an LSD,heated seats, aircon, cruise control, rear blind, tow bar, heated door locks etc on top of that and do you know what? it was only worth £300 as a whole car. know as "the optionmeister"dannyboy759 wrote:My car has all that on it and it was made that way and its a four door!!!!oguz327 wrote:Its not just a box, lsd and kit either.
What about
Map light mirror
Sport interior
Suspension
Black headlining
De chromed bits
All make for a nicer E30 in my view and a few of those extras are a b#stard to fit!
Sports are worth the extra in my view and will hold there money.
It has all the sport bit apart from the pointless plastic bits
No one ever bothers fitting a blackheadlinig as it's a bit scary. They ofter look saggy and bodged though when done! Change the log book?! 90% of peeps who buy sports check the vin before hand, so you would look like a true cock
Are people stupid or tight on here? or a bit of both.
Unless you have had a E30 which drives like the day it left the factory and can compare it to the 20 year old knackered examples about now, you would pay a bit more for the nice one.

You know the trouble for me is that you all take this stuff so seriously. Who cares ?
If people want to buy a genuine sport and pay alot for it, why not ? If others don't think they are worth it great ! If like me you enjoy modifying cars, who has the right to criticise me for fitting a sport body kit and Alpina alloys and badges ? I like the sport 2 kit, I love Alpina styling and I enjoy modding, that's all there is to it.
All of you who get upset about all this or hold such strong opinions really should get out more !
Chill out, chill out

Opinions are like arseholes... etc.
No harm in sharing your opinion. If nobody did this would just be another 'its not to my taste but if you like it thats all that matters' platitude fest cruise site.

I'm certainly not saying that the Sports aren't worth the money, but I wouldn't buy a genuine one.
A lot of money for some plastic, a gearbox and diff that I don't drive hard enough - or probably well enough - to appreciate or benefit from.
But I do appreciate the value, rarity and beauty of the Sport. I love the looks of the bodykits, particularly the Tech1.

Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring
I think the Tech-2 looks better than an M3,
Is a good M3 worth 10k for that little bit of extra power & handerling that will never be tested on the road, not by me if I payed 10k,

As with most types of car ,classic or not theres always two types of enthusiast............the modder and the standardist (!?)
Personally i can see the attraction to both, but given the choice i would take the original, factory item every time.
I'm sure you have altered my reply somewhere along the way munky,it will be noted and not forgotten

This is another of my problems. My Touring cost me less than £800. If I kill it, I haven't lost much, if I spend thousands on a Sport, I'd be too worried about damaging it, or some drunken incompetent idiot damaging it for me.
As for the M3, I'd rather have the Sport kit too, Tech 1 or 2... I DEFINATELY couldn't justify M3 money on a car, unless it was a second car to use very occasionally, but leaving it in the garage is a waste...

I don't drive mine hard enough/well enough to appreciate the extra benefits, but the rarity/beauty factor was one of my main reasons for taking the plunge.gortour wrote:I'm certainly not saying that the Sports aren't worth the money, but I wouldn't buy a genuine one.

The M3 is a superior car for the track but every day road use hmmm.Bob_S wrote:matt G I will take it you've never experience an e30 M3 then.. different kettle of fish is the phrase I would use
A 4k e36 M3 would make better sense for every day night fighting.
