How do I check if it's operating properly?
I've no reason for suspecting anything otherwise, but if it's easy straight forward to do,I would like to check it all the same.
Cheers Geeeeeeeeeezah's

i guess you could, its not like gallons of oil will suddenly burst everywhere drowning people and causing deformed babies that then have to live on ants and slugs and who will have more deformed babies um till the workd is full of deformed babies except the ones that run realy fast and they get diported to KENYA!!
my imagination is not-normal
i think so but be cairful of anything getting in there, have seen a rew things run with out the rocker cover on to check the rockers and lube jets so i cant see much of an issue.

take the rocker cover off when car is cold clean all oil off as many parts as you can get to, refit cover run engine for a while remove cover, if its got oil around all the spraybar holes and all the rockers then i wouldnt worry about it, its old pintos that starve the top end of oil through the spraybar
