well today i stripped down the engine bay and removed the engine and gearbox

now im ****in knackered. certainly not a nice job to do alone :grrr:

Image
Image

all the scrap bits
Image
Image

:woohoo: finaly got the bastard out

Image

if only i had more money this big space would be treated to new engine of the more wilder variety sadly for now just the old 2.5 will be going back in
Image
Image

heres the main cause of all this hard work, hopefully by the end of tommorow she will be nice and straight again and i can start putting her back together wooppeedoo

Image

i now have less than 2 weeks to rebuild everything as well as fit various parts i have been hoarding for so long
new bottom arms, bushes, brakes etc etc if i get time i will change the rear axle bushes too
soon as the car is back from beardymatt i will be giving the engine bay a damn good cleanup and she may just end up looking better than she ever did well in my ownership anyway :snigger:

as expected when i stripped it all down i found a few small issues that will need to be dealt with in the future
but nothing major thank god

cant wait to have her back on the road

even though i bought another tech1 to use and use for parts
its nowhere even close to the condition of mine and as for the drive again no contest mine wins hands down

hopefully in a couple of weeks she will be road worthy and i will be grinning from ear to ear :D

snag is how long it takes to get an appointment for the vic check
as i cant tax the car up until this is done

however i do have an identical tech1 thats taxed and tested winkeye
nowhere near the condition of mine but if mine isnt sorted that one will be getting a good spanking on the day instead

cheers neil :D

How's it all looking Daz? Hope the repairs are going well. When I was driving away from your house the other day I think I saw the wall you hit - looked bloody thick! No wonder your head went through the window! Anyway, cheers for the bits and pieces again - looking forwards to getting the spoiler and sideskirts on the car.

I had a horrible feeling there was going to be some tax disc/number plate swapping going on there,

Let's hope you make the pod one way or another.

From what I've heard Daz,this won't be a problem, bunch of numpties by all accounts.

Great to see the motor being rebuilt, many people would have dragged it to the scrappers by now, fair play to you
