Not sure if this is the best/relevent section for this post, but i've been playing with the idea for sometime now of getting rid of the exterior door locks and have them smoothed off and and have popper's instead which will obviously function with the remote central locking.
I've so far been advised against the idea of this as the popper's or solenoid's give up from time to time and you then come unstuck when having to enter your car?
Can someone who has this function on their car give me an idea of what the possible problems are that can occur and the reliability status of the mod. Cheers.

How about having a battery terminal in the boot in case the battery goes flat, and having a window switch in the boot so in the rare event that both poppers fail then you can lower the window and open the doors from the inside.

good point fella... however, you can and some come with a override switch that you can mount under the wheel arch or under the mirror or as mentioned in the boot, so in the event of a failure you can override the alarm and just press the button to pop it open

my windows come down when the ignition is off
but it did come with a cat 1 alarm when i bought it so that may be an override of some type?
ive always thought door poppers are ideal for when you stop at shops etc same as remote engine starts!
