Hi,

Anglesey Track day 6th Oct 2007 who's going?

I'm seriously considering signing up for this track day at Anglesey as I've been told the new course is really good and well thought out in it's design. I'm live on the Isle of Man but I'm from Anglesey originally. I'm staying with family in Rhosneigr (3 miles away)

Is anyone else considering this date as I would love to meet up with some fellow E30 drivers and also see how my 325 performes in comparison and have a sit in another Zone members car - Sorry to say I'm 6'1" & 15st so it won't be your fastest lap of the day!

All feedback / comments and advice welcome on set up, track and what's the burger van like...

Cheers

Ian

i was there last weekend with circuit days and stayed in Rhosneigr!!! we did the coastal circuit - the downhill twisty crkscrew is interesting. watch out though - no kerbs yet so lots of debris on the circuit at times although they did sweep it at lunch time. Tarmac is in good nick, being new, but not as grippy as some circuits due to not having much rubber down .its not really bad but wathc out first thing - i had cold slicks on a cool circuit with not much rubber down so a i dorve carefully for first session. cracking views over menai straights and into snowdonia if you are brave enough to take your eyes of the circuit !!!

JCB - you stayed in Rhosneigr?! I was there up until the 19th Aug..

I really must get there and try it out, I think the full circuit is being used so should be fun. I'll take the spare slicks along but I'm sure it'll be wet!

That's a hell of a long way for you t ogo from Lincoln 8O

sure is - took 7 hrs to get back due to crappy bank hol traffic !!! we went for the whole weekend though and had a family holiday so not too bad

what size wheels do you use ?? i am having trouble getting sensibly priced 15" slicks. i was lucky - i managed to take 4 slicks, 4 inters and 4 wets - somehow squeezed them + 2 kids + wife + luggage + tools into my passat saloon towcar !!! infact i did put a lot in the race car boot !!!. i used slicks as it was dry all day. knackered one of the tyres though - down to the metal on the shoulder by the end of the day !!! whoops !! forgot to rotate !

Running 15" as advised by many (Taffy was adament on 15") 17" just ruin the cars natural ballence...apparently! I'm sure i wouldn't be able to tell!! winkeye

I'd like to go to this track as well - my parents live on Mon so easy for me.

I'm in France for the world cup on the 6th though - but let me know if you go again.

Chalk up another positive vote for a pretty good drivers track. Was there on 3rd August and really rated the day in general. Maybe we will be there again on the same day with the ex btcc Labbats M3. I'll have a word.

It's sounding good and now I've had a pass from the bread knife I can make a weekend of it with the lads and a few pints of wife beater (after any driving you understand)

Just to add confusion - 20 Masaratis and three Ferariis are coming over to the ISle of Man to take them on the disused airfield and Track on the same day -6th Oct with a track day afternoon afterwards (Cost £60 per car open pit lane)

But to be fare I'm done the Isle of Man track loads and Anglesey sounds so good yet more £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£

Hmmmm I need to sit down with myself and have a word or two...
