Hi all, anyone know if its possible to convert a 318i viscous fan to an electric jobbie without too much hassle? My thinking is that it will release a bit of power or at least make it freer revving, would i be right? Cheers to all in anticipation :D

The fuse and relay spacers are in the fuse box, so it just a case of fitting the fan and temp sensor and wiring it up.

hardly worthwhile as spadge said. on old slow tech stuff with fixed fans, it was worthwhile but you'd be bloody hard pushed to notice any benefit. i'd put the money towards a 325i breaker and get some proper power!

Id only bother if the viscous fan has packed up. Not worth doing just for the hell of it IMO.
