after some discussion with my mother i might be swapping cars next year, my 323 e36 for her e30 325 sport. so i was wondering how difficult the tried and tested m30b35 engine conversion is , how much it should cost and how long it should take, i'd say i'm fairly competant as i'm an apprentice for bmw.
-So roughly how long would it take, would a week off do
-Would i be able to do it for less than a grand
-How do you insure it, who with, and how much more will it be than the standard 325sport
-What kind of performance figures should you see (realistic performance times i mean, 0-60 quarter mile)
Any help will be appreciated as long as its helpful, lol
possible m30 engine swap

If you have all the parts it's doable in one weekend.
Performance (of course they depend on differential and gearbox - ratios) but roughly 6,5s 0-100km/h, 235km/h top speed, quarter mile 14-15s.

if its a nice sport i wouldnt bother.. without trying to sound sad or like Pacerpete
as for less than 1k.. depends if you want to just drop a high mile lump in there (they all are now..) or 'freshen' one up
