Is there no one on this Gods Earth that does E30 4 stud Big Brake conversions at a reasonable price? For a start, there are only about 2 Companies (Hi Tech and AP) that do a proper conversion kit, but they are top dollar (I'm talking about Ԛ£1500 upwards depending on the size of the disks you want) Loads of places do a uprated kit, but with 18x12 & 18x9 wheels, they would just look tiny behind the wheels just like the Zimmermans i have at the moment. Somebady out there must know something, so go on. Spill it all out now

Spoke to Hi Spec. You're looking around Ԛ£2k. I would love to pay that kind of money, but i'm already eating beans on toast, rented out my apartment and pimping myself just to be able to run my car, so Ԛ£2k for brakes is not an option.

Shame cause Mfree is selling a set for Ԛ£500, but they are for the 5 stud E30 M3 so wont fit on mine otherwise i'd snap them up for that price. Might have to draw one and stick them on my exsisting brakes to make them look bigger at this rate

Tarox do a 6 pot big brake kit for the E30.

http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk sell this kit.....

Details : Disc diam & thickness = 318mm. Minimum wheel size - 17".

Price: Ԛ£1,366.56 inc VAT

I know its still Ԛ£1400, but they do slightly cheaper kits (about Ԛ£1100) with smaller discs.

Are they any good player and whay size discs are you running?

Johnno if you have to spend money on having new disks and stuff made up, then it will cost you similar money to what it will cost to buy the complete kit from the shops, so you're not really saving any money and like i said, i dont want to spend sill money on a brake kit. Especially as i need them for purely cosmetic reasons.

Its the crap positioning of the track rod ends that makes cheap brake conversions a problem, it runs so close to the disc, I'm still trying to sort discs for my 300 - 320mm conversion with brembo 4 pots but even with the best disks i can sort i still ned 10mm spacers with my hartges, all because of the bloody track rod ends

I've decided now. I cant afford the stupid money being quoted, so i'm going to draw a picture of a 16" disk and stick it behind my wheels and hope that no one notices.

I alsi though the money was for a set of 4, but i've just realised that they're only for the 2 fronts

dont forget to draw a fake caliper also as this would kinda give it away too dude! LOL

just put a bit if cash aside slowly every week or something and then get em......

big brake kits at the size u want are always BIG money...its a shame really..... but luckily ure wheels are dished so u cant really notice the lack of big brakes....-i think anyway....

I hear you Karan, but it seems very petty to spend all this money building a car like mine and then skipping on the last thing, which is the brakes. I know you cant really notice, but i know the Zimmerman's are too small and it really bugs me. You know how it is mate

I think some one said rally design do a bigger disc(300-310mm ?) for a bit more money ?

Won't fit under 15" wheels but thats not a problem for Ben's lush ride

Daryl you cheeky bugger  I'll have you know, i may be big, black and hairy, but i'm not cheap you know. You'll have to at least buy me a big mac meal

Anyway i gave Rally Design a call and he was really helpful. He couldn't do me a kit, but he gave me another number for a guy called H and i called him. We had a long chat and he's willing to do me a 330x30 disk with a 4 pot calliper for around Ԛ£1100 + VAT or he can go upto 355x30 with a 4 pot for a bit more. I told him i'd want some big rear disks as well and he wants me to come down and see him this weekend in Dover. Apparently his wife is a bit of a E30 nut and they have 4. I'm really, really tempted, but i kip asking myself if i can really justify spending Ԛ£2k just to look good at shows. Lets face it, my car has only got this year at the shows then it's stardom is over. I could never imagine myself doing the same shows twice.

Ho what to do, what to do?

I sent an e-mail to an American Company asking about their big brake conversion and this is what they sent back to me. Seems like a really good deal.
