dunno - I was surprised when some mate and I bought a 325 about how loud it was and I'm pretty sure there was nothing wrong with it.

Hard to tell from the video. You or you mates got another 6pot to compare it with ?

But regardless of noise, why weren't you hangin' the back end out round those roundabouts

I reckon its a hole in the centre box. There's a slight buzzing sound that's a bit too loud to be rear box. I had a hole in a middle box too once, and it sounded the nts at certain rpm and shite at others!

I agree with oze30. I had an old E36 and it sounded like that when there was a hole immediately behind the cat.

Standard BMW exhausts are very quiet.

it will be the baffles corroded and in pieces, my mates got a 325i, and the baffles are gone, sounds ace, but lags power coz of it...

sounds like part of the exhaust system is in contact with the heat shiels and reverberating through the car, happened on mine

Yup that sounds shagged. In a very good way though. What you REALLY want, is to replace the entire exhaust with straight pipe, with a lil' cherry bomb type silencer on the pipe(s) at the end. Will sound sexual
