Hi

Although i have had BMW's solidly since 1999, i have just bought my 4th E30 since that date and found this place - thanks for having me !

I went to buy it today and paid just £450 - it's as nice as it looks and (Except for the soon to be sold wheels and tyres) all original. I have posted pics which i took at tea time and really, i just thought this was the best way to introduce me and my car. I have an E46 318i se, a Mercedes 190E and very soon will have yet another Mercedes 190E as a project - i am also restoring an Ex-Army, 1971 Series 2a Land Rover 109". I have been restoring and fixing cars since the early 90's and so know a bit about it all, i also get roped into fixing my family's cars too but lately i have managed to tell them i just don;t have the time anymore, which leaves me a bit more time for my own stuff. I drive an HGV (Class 1) and i was a Recovery Operator for years before that so you could say that cars and trucks have formed most of my adult lifetime's activity. If anyone is motorbikes, i also have owned over 50 machines since 1989 and a Bike shop for a couple of years as well. I am more than a bit good with a set of spanners (Necessity is the mother of all invention !) and i'm happy to help people out if i can. I'm based in Liverpool, if that's of any interest.

Anyway, here's some shots of my car - hope it's likeable. The wheels and hardly worn tyres are going up for sale as of right now. I will post an advert with specific photo's in the for sale section and if nothing by the weekend, they will be on ebay next week. I am looking to put standard 15" BBS wheels back on, to make it as original as the rest of the car.....

Sorry it's lot's of pics but it's what people normally ask for (This isn;'t the only forum i'm a member of) and i'm really proud of what i've bought, especially for less than £500.

Hope everyone likes it, it's a keeper !

Looks like a great buy at £450 - you could eat off that manifold! So clean. Looks like it won't need much work anyway. Got a 1973 Series 3 Land Rover myself - demonstrator vehicle for the Polish Army, loads of extras including cruise control! Sat in a barn waiting for me to save up funds for restoration. Anyway, welcome to the zone! Lots of good E30s on here, you'll find some people don't like the 320i's as much but they just haven't seen the light... :)

Welcome to the zone, nice buy, good price.

As has been said, you'll probably get Maxfield (who doesn't even drive yet!) telling you it's crying out for a 325i engine like he did the last 320i owner!

I'm a recovery operator myself, love the job, never boring!

320i - The Joy of Six !

The wheels are ok but i want the original wheels to restore the car to as near 'New', or at least 'Original' condition as i can - i'm just like that. I think the standard car looks just perfect as God intended. I agree, on the right car the wheels would look great and if anyone thinks they look good on my car, it's taken as a compliment so thanks.

I agree with the Terry Wogan comment but i DO have loads of time for:

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart McConey (Decent Music you NEVER hear on the mainstream channels)
Mike Harding (Yes, i know Folk music isn't popular but it's real Talent)
Sally Traffic (Bless her and all she does for Truckers)

There is a lot of crap on Radio 2 but if you get the combo of Radio 1, 2, Century FM and Smooth FM right, you can get an entire days entertainment without too much swearing at the stereo !

Sarah 'What's-her-face' who does the very early mornings is almost unbearable but not quite as sickeningly bad a Radio 1's 'J.K. and Joel' - My 10 year old daughter and cousins could do 100 times better than those two monkeys.

I love my CD collection and it's getting installed in my new car first thing in the morning !

Sarah Kennedy I believe you mean. :chainsaw: :shoot1: :guns: :boom:

She's awful and knows nothing about the music she plays. Terry is better by far!!

I listen to bloody radio 4 in the morning, although I have a special selection of metal for the E30. Chaos A.D. is in there at the mo. It seems to suit the car.

haha.. was just about to mention the southport meet on the 1st Sept.

Cracking car for the money!!

I'm in Warrington so not too far away either...

Listen to Century FM and Classic FM whilst in work (delivery driver).

Classic FM - I know nothing about classical music but I enjoy the sound of it. Keeps me relaxed etc.

The legends is a good laugh on Century FM, although I don't follow football lol

Welcome to the Zone...!!

You could sell maxfield those wheels, so he can have a similar set on his e30 to his dads m3.

If it's ebay it will be a but it now for about £280 ish but i thought i'd offer them here to members for £200 to stay in the 'Spirit of things' and also maybe to sell them a little quicker.

Had one member ask so far so hopefully i won;t have to bother with the bay of E !

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the car - i absolutely love it.

I bought it from a really good bloke in Lytham St. Annes. On Autotrader advertised at £525 but, i guess i said the right things and also i took it without an MOT but knowing upon inspection that it just needed a couple of bits for the test so he dropped it to £450 for me.

The bloke i bought it from was about as nice a fella as you could ever want to meet, Name is Dave and if he is a member or a member knows him, his car has gone to a VERY good home. Top Bloke who kept it in a garage and kept the car so clean, i was astounded when i saw it - the photo's were taken 30 minutes after returning home so the interior was THAT clean when i turned up at his house !

It's a credit to him and any previous owners, so much so that my usual habit of smoking has been utterly banned in this car - i just can't bring myself to do it !

Again, thanks for the compliments.
