I am currently in the process of designing a custom dash, and I do not have access to the car as of yet. Does anyone know if the heater controls are controlled by potentiometers and electronic components or if they are controlled by any other mechanical means like wire under tension, similar to cycle brake wire?

Thanks

Hot/cold knob is a rheostat.
airduct adjustments are mechanical wires.
Fan switch is a switch in series with a resistor matrix.

Any ideas as to how to extend mechanical wires for the airduct adjustments?

Hmmm.. that puts a huge glitch in my plans.. Does anyone know how much play there is in the system. So can the controls be realistically moved to anywhere else on the dash?

No reason why not, you just need to use longer cables.

Im sure you could move it as long as you extend the cables.
