Wanted to do this with my sport for a while, now me and me brother are trying to get the cash for an M3 i want to know how it would look, i thought its something original yet tasteful, anyway i thought i share it and see what people think (bare with me me photoshop skills ain't great!)

Image

When i get the time i will remove the bonnet badge and tinnt the windows, think it give a bit more of a mucsle car look, also tried putting the ///M badge where the kidney grill was but it didn't look quite right, my idea is to completely debadge the backend and have the ///M badge where the BMW roundle would normally be, i'll post some more pics later.

Do not do that to an M3 please! Especially a Sport Evo!

Any other E30 yes!

yep I agree, the M3 is too rare a car to modify, i like them pretty much standard, but plus - the kidney grill is signature BMW...

i have been desperate to do this for ages now!!!!!!!!!

had the thought to modify the centre grill using a outer light grill. main worry is the raised section of the bonnet.

the middle may look funny so i was going to get a bonnet to bodge with some filler to get it level.

if you buy all new grills and keep the original stuff you can always change back to original. simple.

i say do it because as we can see from the pics it look great.

i will do it when teh car runs and is better condition.

Max tells someone not to mess with an M3...

Now what you really want to do is extend the grill across the lights & arrange a mechanism to raise them when the lights come on.

Oh dear god no!!

Dont deface the sacred (replaceable with any other grill from a scrapper) m3 grill! The bmw gods themselves will hunt you down and smite you.

If you like it, do it, but you'll need to get the bonnet done too to get rid of the part where its shaped to the grill.

hum i bet it would look good on the right car.

on a euro style e30 it would look mint!

i would probs join it properly and then spray the grill satin black.

LOL not expecting such a huge response, i know i'm not a fan of changing the M3 too much i would love 2 M3's 1 completely original including alloys and one subtly modified.

I don't see why some people are so against the grill being removed as ric325i said it easy to change back but more than that alot of people black out the grill anyway! i just think this would give it a bit of a cleaner look than simply blacking out the grill?

the pure bmw boys like the grill but they will still paint it black.

i suppose its still there but its still changing the original.

i think that looks good mate... i have just made something along those lines for the front of mine... i have gone a bit wild i used black smoked perspex and has mat black wire mesh bonded to one side, to work round the bonnet and front pannel buldge a i was able to heat the perspex so it brought the top and the bottom out stop them looking so visible..its got a american dodge style look to it.ill get you a photo its better to see it

i think your idea is a must mate, but done make any rash moddifications the body work so it fits... cos i hate to say it... (cos some peeps on here can get nasty) but i have to agree an M3 it a car hand build by angels mate... its there to be unabused.... but there is nothing to say that you cant have both so your able to swap every now and then... and the front bumper look the nuts thats a must do..

go for it mate.... :rasta:

Thats exactly what i wanted, a slightly more muscular look, i love how clean the lines of the M3 are and i think smoothing out the front a little isn't too harsh a mod, just makes it a little different, personal, i've loved this car since i first saw one, i wouldn't dream of messing with the bodywork of a proper M3, i would however slightly widen the arches of a replica M3 kit on a normal E30, similar to what Rui Azevedo of Azevedo Motorsport did for his racer for the ultra aggressive look (Pictures Below, ignore the stupid sticker he's decided to put on it)

P.S. a photo would be great DAG-BMW

fuck it i don't see why people are sreaming "no don't do it to an m3", or what??

if i had the money to buy an m3 id do whatever the hell i liked with it, i'm not into lairy bodykits or crazy paint jobs but why do people think they can tell other people what they can or can't do to their cars or what wheels they have to put on etc...

it just gets on my tits

rant over

idea!!!! how about if you was to modify the eye brows that you can get for the e30 so they go all the way along the top of bonnet that will solve the bottet buldge..... and maybe do the same on the bottom and with your bars going across idea that your working on would look crazy and meaty....

someone photo shop that up!!!

I kind of like that grille. I don't like body-kits and 'loud' paint schemes either, but am all for a bit of minimalism; it will still be a BMW without the 'kidneys'.

As a side note: that first photo of the E30 M3 was my desktop, but I couldn't stand those bright red bumper inserts, so changed it. In my personal opinion I think they cheapen the car.
