replacing front fogs with driving lamps

im replacing my front fogs with with 55 watt driving lamps, does anyone know if i can just use existing wiring and do a straight swap? cheers

I'm certain 'driving lamps' have to be a minimum distance up off the floor, but i might be wrong.

The fact that the original fog lamps are 55w means the wiring is OK.

But if you insist on dazzling on coming traffic, then be prepared for the fines from the boys in blue.

When I bought mine (new) going back some years the boxes actually read "Driving Lamps"

Tried explaining this to a copper once. He was having none of it lol

As far as I'm aware, driving lamps go above the bumper, fog lights go below.
I think also, that driving lamps must be wired into the high beam circuit.
Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring

In oz, They cant be higher than 1 metre off the ground, nad must be wired into the High beam with a seperate switch.
