Never liked the 2002. Is it really a classic?
I love the old e3 saloon and the E9. They look the bollocks.

Am located in Guildford - who was that who said "are they a classic" !! We wouldn't be driving e30's if weren't for 02's; in fact BMW was almost bankrupt, and were saved by the introduction of it's forerunner, the 1502 I think (anyone know)? The engine was used in the e30's almost in its original form up until 1988, and the F1 turbo that won the championship around 1985 used an 02 block which was good for 900 bhp in race trim !!

Well guys I am not working on it currently as I am so busy and funds are short.
A mate of mine has a tii from which we are supposed to be installing the engine at some stage. The engine in mine has some problem, not sure what it is but as it has only about 60k from new I doubt the head has ever been off it. After that the idea is or was to supercharge it as a mate of mine did with his touring which made it nice and quick (185bhp) I think he said when he had it tested.
So far I have lowered it and had fitted the subtle Alpina arches, fitted the turbo front spoiler, had those wheels made with very specific offsets to work properly, and I have a 5 speed box conversion from my last 02 to get fitted.
Like all these things they don't get done when you are busy etc, but one of these days I want to get it all done as I love driving it.
Is it for sale, not really 'cos it's worth more to me than it is worth I suppose.
Currently I have my e30's to work on !
Best

That's the bbs suit the best. Even if they were only available toward the end of the production run of 2002's
