HEY ZONERS

I have a 31.8IS and i am now looking for an exhaust which compliments the car with its looks, sounds and preformance. Is there any specific that works well and has all the three elements for the 31.8IS or is it simply what looks good to your eyes is how its going to be?

I'm not to bothered about the looks because anything that sounds good and proves to increase performance will ultimately look good is the way I see it some of you guys may not see it in that way and like a certain design or shape but what matters to me most is the aggressive sound and the performance it will give.

So if anyone has any suggestions please to let me know…

Any help is much appreciated

Many Thanks Guys

Jazz. [/img]

check the zone shop as there is one in there. general opinion is that by changing the exhaust you will only have more volume coming out of the back, performance isnt really affected as bmw made a good exhaust system for it. not speaking from experience, only what ive heard on the zone

hmmm cheeers dude but im still not sure as to which one is most popular for the e30 31.8is i mean coz diffrent engine dynamics have a diffrent outcome within the sound it produces if you get what i mean, anything that flows well with the m42 engine as thats what exact engine im with at the moment so.....

is it a bases of what engine flows well with the type of exhaust or is it any one will sound good on any car ?

cheers

chicken that sounds good from when u say u have a power flow system how much did that all set u back and well if the neighbours still talk to you that must mean its loud but not so so soo loud hmmm lol i sthat good enough lol ???

i dont knwo how to explain the noise i want from my system i once saw this nice nissan skyline and boy was the exhaust loud and well it wasnt a throaty noise but it was like a loud ass vacume cleanner lol kinda weird i think of it this way but one could just tell how much power the machine had and thats what i'd ;like mine to sound like.

bascially go to a nissan skyline r32 and tell the owner to rev the f*** out of it and youll then knwo what i exactly meann lol

cheers chicken do u have any pics of your one if so please do pm me cheers dude

Also drill holes in the airbox for a better sound...

You won't get any better on performance than standard...

It wouldn't affect it in anyway apart from more in there and getting a better noise.

You don't have any problems with torrential rain now do you? Still a hole there with air going in...

Not sure where abouts it's drilled though guessing the lower bit...

If you're doing that stick a K&N panel filter in too...

jazz, i would balance my options with a powerflow system from dips, you can't go wrong. but as already said, exhausts don't increase power on the iS, but if you get a manifold then its a different story.

I've also a Powerflow on mine. Like the sound alot. Very good deep throaty sound, but never raspy when I press the go pedal but not much louder than stock when cruising along at motorway speeds. Also I love when the sound changes when the revs rise. After 6500 its such a cool roar.

I was told the manifold on the iS was a good design. The bottleneck is in the boxes after it. Was I being told Lies :?
