I am really confused, you don't even have a 318iS yet but you still recommend what other people say (obviously they will say zone chip on the zone board), not saying its good/bad as I don't have a clue as I havn't used it - neither have you, so don't be a parrot please.

i think j is just trying to give you advice gained through the collective knowledge on the zone as the chips on here seem to better than most according to other users.

so thats a bit harsh mate.

i would say so, the car is certainly more lively as a result of the chip going in, i will rolling road it when the car is in use again cos i am curious to see whats what. ive only got a induction kit on and chip, otherwise its standard

Ant makes the chip.

I'm just going on what I've read and I have seen nothing but great things said about it, all zone chips for that matter.

thats true j.

it dosent mean they are the best and nobody is saying that but they are good.

people on here are not bias towards the zone stuff as at the end of the day we all want the best stuff for our cars and not just whats in the zone shop.

He might not do the chips anymore TBH I don't really know.

It would be good to have a dyno day with various chips.

Ant does the chips, and knows what he's doing! Big advantage of the zone chip is that you have instant access direct to the designer/manufacturer for total product support.

I thought that although Ant still does his own chips, he now sells them himself through ATech, and the chips on the Zone shop are not his? Maybe that's changed again recently...

Personally i'll be getting one of Ant's chips for my iS when i get round to it - i've heard nothing but rave reviews from people that have fitted them, and as Brian says, if there's any problems or you want more detailed info, you can get hold of him to ask easily :)

I've got a Superchip. Think its pretty good, Nive difference over standard. Drove the iS with the chip over from the UK. Was just as quick or maybe abit more than a E46 320Ci. Then drove the drift car back... Huge difference I thought. Both cars have K&N and Pipercross Panel filters and the chipped one has a powerflow backbox.
Also I wasn't that far behind a 200bhp M3 one day on the way to a meet.

Superchips are wicked expensive though. 250 I think. Luckily I wasn't the one that bought it :D

What a damn good idea... except you should keep the same car on the same dyno and just change the chips, would be a fair test to see whats best.

I'm game for it

Ya, be a good Idea alright. Waht would be even better would, 1st Dyno everyones car to see who's best lol
Should use one car for all the chips first to see which is best. But even better use one thats the most standard out of the lot and one thats the most fettled. That way You'd see which chip is best on its own and maybe might find out one that makes bettter use of mods.

Pity I'm all the way over here :(

modded air box, just drilled a few holes on the cold side of it so it could suck in some more air, and added a K&N pannel filter

the head on the had had been skimmed as well, so that probably contributed as well to the increase in power.

in this months Total bmw magazine, the is a feature on my old IS, with a lot of history on the model its self, the car was quite heavily restricted from the factory in a similar fasion to the way the e36 328i is retricted.
