I have no argument against claiming what you are rightly entitled to but people should realise that by claiming for whiplash when you are perfectly fine is a good way to drive up the cost of everyones insurance.Rosc0PColtrane wrote:Do you have legal cover on your insurance??
If so push for compo due to stress fromt he crash, bad back etc etc. Milk this fecker. Also the value of a crash repaired M3 against the value before the crash, ie minty minty needs compensating for.

just seen this, gutted for you mate
its taking too long for the insurers to asses it, i've had claims delt with and paid out with 4 weeks, even arguing over what i'll accept
as for the damage, i recon that they will put down as beyond economical repair and it will be a cat B by the looks of it.

I took E30Adam 15 months to sort out his claim, even though someone also drove into the back of him. The driver at fault might admit to be at blame, but his insurer will try to hang onto there money for as long as possible!
I can't see why it's taken 4 weeks and the assessor hasn't even been out yet!

Hope you manage to sort it all out dude, one nice looking M3.
Matt.
You reckon? Mine have gone steadily down.Nelly wrote:Premiums will go up regardless - it's inevitable, grab what you can - while you can
Dont get me wrong. Im not thinking Insurers are Angels. But taking that attitude is pretty much the problem with the UK these days. "Fuck everyone else what am i getting out of it?"

Its like Voting. If you choose not to. You cant complain that you dont like the Government. So if you claim when you arent really needing it. You cant complain if your Ins goes up in the future.
NB: Reedy seems to be GENUINELY shaken by this incident (with good reason) and clearly his cars been written off so of course he should claim.

the insurers kept meesin me abotu wen sum1 wrote my car off. took ages to assess n all. kick up a fuss n make them give u a hire car and storage of the car until they sort it. idid that for my 306 d turbo n it cost them as extra 1500 on storage n hire car
I'm glad you saw my point - as I said I have no argument with genuine claims.Rich_W wrote:You reckon? Mine have gone steadily down.Nelly wrote:Premiums will go up regardless - it's inevitable, grab what you can - while you can

Reedy, do you have a courtesy car out of it? If not, get one, make sure it's an equivalent car. They cost loads and will be factored into a claim. At that rate of haemorage, financially, they'll pull their fingers out of their arses. Money is the language they understand. Make sure you talk it too!

That's absolutely ridiculous! What was the mileage anyway? I'm guessing you'll be looking for £6-7k at the least? Looked like it was in decent nick...

Na, with `Hyperformance` they`re brokers for Sabre insurance!
I`ve already told them that i`m not accepting that!
Just gettin some evidence together to prove its worth at least double of what they offered me!!!!!

yes reedy you will be best off searching every internet site for M3's similar to yours, with prices etc. print them all off at least 2/3 if not more, and send them off with a nice, initmidating letter. That should do the job... worked for me a year back, I was in a similar situation to yourself. I wish you luck with this...
